I don't exactly remember the year we went to torres del paine but it was about december of 2018, was a “camver”(summer camp) in scout . All the camps in scout traveled by bus but that year we went to Punta Arenas and the best option to move was plane(really expensive for poor scouts from santiago centro) well, we arrived at the Punta Arenas airport at dawn

and took a bus to a forest that was around Punta Arenas (I don't remember the name of the village, but it was something like san juan... not really important), we stayed in this place for a few days to encamp. To talk a little about the camp, our scout group was divided into four patrols of about 7 girls each and each patrol was to camp together. And in addition to the activities we had to do, we had to build things to make camping much more comfortable (personally the most enjoyable thing to do) like dishwasher (a hole with sticks building a grille), pantry (very difficult to build), toilet paper holder, and the most important thing the latrine (to pee and poo xd)

The most exciting part of the camp was going to Puerto Natales and go hiking to the base of the Torres del paine. We did this during the last few days of the two week camp, and it was a four hour hike that was really exhausting. We drank water from small streams we found along the way and even sweated a lot despite the cold weather (hehe). But it was all worth it in the end; the sky was clear, and we could see the entire Torres del Paine. Walking for 8 hours wasn't boring at all because we were all together. I remember having lunch, which was a can of tuna with rice, right in front of the Torres del Paine.
